Headteacher’s Welcome

A warm welcome to Grasmere Primary School

“A Small School With a Big Heart”

Ofsted 2022

Now in my third year at Grasmere, this comment from our last OFSTED inspection resonates more than ever. The report was full of positivity about our school, please see the link below:

Grasmere Primary OFSTED report2022

At Grasmere, we understand that in order to learn well, children need to be happy, safe, valued and engaged at school. We have an inclusive approach to ensure every child is supported, challenged and encouraged to reach their full potential. Our children have a thirst for knowledge and make tremendous progress both academically and personally.

We have a dedicated and highly skilled staff team with excellent pedagogy, who are commited to the progress, attainment and enjoyment of every child that comes into the school.  Attainment at Grasmere is among the highest in the Borough and we have exceptionally high expectations of children’s learning and behaviour. Join us for a walk round of the school and you will see this in action day after day.

We believe in giving children enriching opportunities through our curriculum with humanities creative arts, music and physical education valued  alongside the core subjects of reading, writing, maths, science and computing. We teach RSE, PHSE and digital literacy to ensure that our children are fully prepared for their lives beyond Grasmere. As well as achieving in curriculum areas, we are keen to promote our core values of Kindness, Creativity, Bravery and Respect. We know these are vital and ensure all round development to enable our children grow in confidence, pride and a love of learning. This is why at Grasmere Primary School we have the motto of Growing Minds, Promoting Success.

We are fortunate to be very oversubscribed for Reception. We often have the odd space in other year groups. We are always happy to show prospective families around, most of our tours are on a Wednesday at 10am, when we have more parents though (as we do currently) we offer extra tours. Get in touch with Burcu if you would like to see us in action! bsaglam@grasmere.hackney.sch.uk
