KS1 Playground Building Work update
KS1 Playground Building Work update: PLEASE READ!
Dear Parents and Carers,
Very excitingly, work on our Key Stage 1 playground will begin next week. The first phase of building is expected to take 4 weeks [which includes the remainder of this half term]. This means, hopefully, the children will be able to use the playground after half term.
The elements being constructed are the large wooden structure called ‘Crow’s Nest Island’ and the ‘social village’ fencing that separates KS1 and reception playgrounds. I have included some pictures of the plans below. The covered area will be refurbished at a later date. It would be great to have some parent volunteers to help plant and paint walls following the work. I will be in contact regarding this nearer the end of the build!
Please note that with this building work there will inevitably be some disruption. As from Tuesday 7th May:
- For playtimes, children in KS1 and reception will use the garden instead.
- At the start and end of the day children will meet in the garden for drop off and collection at 8.55am and 3.30 pm. Meeting points will be clearly signposted on the day.
Finally, a massive THANK YOU! This work is only possibly due to the great amount of money you have raised and donated. We can’t wait to see the children enjoy this new playground and get the exercise and engagement from the outside spaces at Grasmere they deserve. Please do get in contact if you have any concerns or questions.
Kind regards,
Nick Mallender
